One team member views a hidden Lego structure and must describe it to their team so they can replicate it — without seeing it.
Two identical sets of Lego/building blocks
Before the game, build a small structure using one set of blocks. Keep it hidden.
Divide players into teams. Give each team an identical set of blocks.
One person from each team (the "viewer") gets to see the hidden structure for 30 seconds.
The viewer returns to their team and describes the structure verbally — no touching the blocks!
The team builds based on the description. The viewer can make additional 30-second viewing trips.
The first team to replicate the structure exactly wins.
Start with simple structures and increase complexity.
Consider adding a rule: the viewer changes each trip, forcing the team to synthesize multiple descriptions.
Debrief on communication clarity and the challenge of describing 3D objects verbally.
Drawing Version: Instead of Lego, have teams replicate a drawing described by the viewer.
Relay Version: Each team member gets one viewing trip, then a different person describes it.
Players stand in a circle, reach across to grab two different people's hands, then work together to untangle the "knot" without letting go.
Teams compete to build the tallest freestanding tower using only balloons and tape within a time limit.
One blindfolded player must traverse an "obstacle course" guided only by their partner's verbal instructions.
